These are ‘fixed’ to your teeth and cannot be removed by you. Metal braces or ‘train tracks’ adhere to the teeth and have a wire running through them.
Fixed braces are the mainstay of orthodontic treatment. They are used for solving more complex problems where a large amount of tooth movement is required. They afford detailed and controlled tooth movement, unlike removable braces or aligner type appliances. They are used for most problems ranging from severely crooked/spaced teeth to teeth that stick out. Treatment duration can last for as little as 6 months but complex cases can take 2 or more years.
